As part of the extensive restoration process of Fabra&Coats – a former textile factory that drove the growth of the Sant Andreu neighborhood in northern Barcelona – the project transforms an abandoned site into a park, giving it a second life. In addition, the various proposed operations seek to bridge the two scales that were generated in the former industrial context: that of large factory buildings and that of small workers’ houses. To this end, a poplar plantation has been designed, responding to the dimensions of the factory volume, and an extensive sloping plane, whose labyrinthine path invites passersby to enter it, leading them to the heart of the garden...[+]
